The DBYTF’s 2nd annual 10 and under tennis tournament was held over the weekend.
Ten students competed, representing their individual program site from Pauls Place After-school, Achievement Centers for Children & Families, POMPEY PARK RECREATION CENTER, Pine Grove Elementary School, Suncoast Christian Academy, and Delray Beach Parks & Recreation. The event was hosted at Catherine Strong Splash Park.
Family and friends filled the sidelines cheering the children on. The format was the best of three 7 point tiebreakers. Plenty of matches went the distance, creating a fantastic atmosphere for everyone watching.
Jolie from Paul’s Place After School was our champion while Evelyn from S.D. Spady Elementary Montessori was the runner up. Their match was a nail biter, resulting in a 3 set showdown ending in 7/6 3/6 7/6.
