The United States Tennis Association Foundation recently awarded two grants totaling $37,500 to the Delray Beach Youth Tennis Foundation.
The Delray Beach Youth Tennis Foundation was founded as a nonprofit organization in 2015 to improve the lives of underserved students living in Delray Beach.
Its objective is to ensure that every student is given the opportunity to express his or her ideas, and has the tools needed to be successful in life.
“As a member of the USTA Foundation’s NJTL Capacity Building Program we have been able to reach over 220 at-risk youth in Delray Beach,” said Peg Perez, executive director of the Delray Beach Youth Tennis Foundation. “With their support, our program can focus on the whole child, instilling values, academic excellence, physical health and healthy habits — all through the game of tennis.”
The USTA Foundation awarded more than $1.2 million in grants to 43 organizations that provide tennis and education to under-resourced youth, as well as a need for program infrastructure support. In all, the USTA Foundation awarded more than $6.6 million in support of its key programs and initiatives under its structure last year.
